Christopher Karwick is Chief Operating Officer at Silicon Valley Power, where he oversees the utility’s operations, infrastructure, and strategic initiatives supporting the City of Santa Clara’s electric system.

Chris joined Silicon Valley Power in 2017 and has held several leadership roles, including Division Manager of Generation and Assistant Director positions in both Utility Operations and Customer Development and Project Management. Throughout his tenure, he has managed a diverse portfolio of energy assets and led major infrastructure and customer-focused initiatives.

With over 25 years of experience in the energy industry, Chris has led critical utility functions including grid operations, power generation, substations, transmission and distribution, and engineering. Prior to joining SVP, he held leadership roles at Calpine Corporation, one of the nation’s largest power producers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the California Maritime Academy.

In his current role, Chris focuses on maintaining reliable operations, advancing infrastructure to support evolving energy demands, and driving efficient, forward-looking utility performance.
